This was a fun month, full of crafting, learning the carillon, and some partying with friends. Let’s dive right in with the crafty update first.
April Projects

With the weather getting nicer, causing a certain 126lb someone to beg for walks, I had less time for crafts this month. However, I managed to complete this sunrise satin stitch kit and make some healthy progress on an Acadia National Park satin stitch pattern.
Bells, Bells, Bells!

This was also the first month where I was full swing into my carillon lessons. I even got to go up to the top of the library and play the actual bells! It’s an eerie place up in the dome of the library, which is empty, and a little scary to realize that I’m sitting in a room suspended from the ceiling (second image is the room as seen from below). I also learned my first song, which I haven’t perfected, but it’s coming along if I go slow. As to not torture you with how slow I go, I have uploaded this at DOUBLE the speed I was playing:
Ugly Disco
One other fun thing this month was heading out to the Ugly Disco with friends. We were a small but mighty group and I had a blast. Photos below. Oh, and check out my sparkly shoes!!

Megagame
Oh! And how could I forget spending an exhausting, 12-hour day at RIT to help run the fantasy setting megagame. Once again, I headed up the Crier’s Guild, collating and organizing the news to inform all 40+ players of the realm’s events. Sadly, I didn’t get any nice photos, so you’ll have to deal with these two crappy ones (dear lord, what am I doing with my face?!) I do enjoy dressing up for the game, but then always forget to get a nice snapshot of what I wore, mostly because I change while I’m there, after I’ve helped move tons of tables and chairs. And by the time I get home around 11p, I’m no longer looking very fresh.

Book Hunt
One more thing of note this month. I’ve been on the hunt for years to obtain copies of a series I loved in my youth. While I do own a set, they aren’t the covers I originally read, and it’s proven nigh impossible to find those covers. Every so often, I scour the internet, which I did again this month. This time, I even made a Reddit post to inquire if anyone had any leads. One very nice woman in the UK offered to send me the first book, since she had gotten it on accident when trying to get the covers she originally had read. It arrived just a couple of days ago with a lovely little postcard. I’m always surprised by the kindness of strangers.

What’s On Tap?
May’s schedule is pretty quiet, so I’m hoping to get more crafting done, as well as many more walks with Brienne, quality time with friends/family, and just generally enjoying the nicer weather. The backbreaking yard work of spring is over, and I look forward to spending quality time eating meals on the patio and lounging in my hammock. Hope you all have a lovely spring as well! – A
