Where oh where did August go? And why do I have so few photos to share for the month?! Well, let’s launch into it, shall we?
Project Updates

I diligently kept up with the stitch-along, the first time I’ve ever accomplished that feat, and I finished it up on 9/1. Sure, that’s technically not August, but I couldn’t wait to share the finished product with y’all! Unfortunately, keeping up with it, meant that the Yellowstone project got less love this month. But, it should be finished very soon. Not much left to go!
Carilloning
It was hard to keep up with my practice schedule this month, as my schedule was a bit less structured than usual, but I kept plugging away when I could, and I fit in a private lesson up in the tower. (It was sooooo hot up there!) Watch below for one of my favorite Depeche Mode b-sides called Sibeling being played on the bells!
Summer Fun
Had a lot of fun with friends and family this month. Kim and I checked out the new Krazy Arrows at LaserTron, went to listen to George’s band play at Lovin’ Cup, and attended a friend’s 80’s themed birthday party. I hit the beach one last time for the summer, played mini-golf, went to the zoo, played RPGs with my friends, and generally just tried to enjoy the last of the summer months!

Work Life
Had some unexpected changes at work at the end of the month, which means I had to say goodbye to someone I’ve worked with for a couple years. I’m going through the stages of grief about it, for sure. But, when one door closes, another one opens. I’m starting to work with some other folks, which means I’m learning lots of challenging scientific topics I haven’t done recently. Gotta reach back into the recesses of my brain and brush off the cobwebs for this stuff. I really hope I’m up for the challenge!
Coming Up
Next month is my birthday, and I have lots of plans for that weekend, so I’ll have updates about that next time. I’m also hoping to finish the Yellowstone piece and maybe get started on another kit that’s been waiting in my pile of unstarted projects. There’s also a concert I’m going to, as well as a work conference. It’s shaping up to be a busy month. Until next time, everyone – stay warm!
